I was also wondering what the story of this building is? I am pretty sure it is a post WWII construction. What was on this location before, and what role does it play today? Thanks

I was also wondering what the story of this building is? I am pretty sure it is a post WWII construction. What was on this location before, and what role does it play today? Thanks
It was built in the late 90s in Berlin, after the German government decided to move back there. In its function it's comparable to the White House; the German chancellor lives and works there.

I'm not sure... it looks good up close, but not so much from the distance pic. and that plaza aint too great.
On a side note - is there also a mansion/office like this for the president?

Lol, you got it, actually that's the title the native Berlins gave the building after it was completed.
I think it's great, as it imitates the structure of baroque castles and combines it with light modern materials + I like the idea of plants growing out of the building.
