Really, a building such as this has no place in modern architecture, imo it hardly qualifies as modern architecture. This building is so much trying to capture an historic feeling (<--- which is a definition of kitsch btw) that it is more neo-architecture than post-modern architecture. No, I really can't appreciate this.

The pier was constructed in the style of the german Baederarchitecture which is characteristic for the german coastal towns. The style developed in the eginning of the 20th century. But it is still loved and continued. Probably, it fits better into the industrial age section as this style originated during that period. For me, its the mosty beautiful style ever.
