I'm feel unsafe in:

Compton
South L.A.
Inglewood
Lynwood (Much better than 90s but little was unsafe)
North Long Beach
Some part of San Bernardino
Some part of Pomona
Some part of Rialto
Watts

I remember that, Rialto have been good suburb in around 1980s. It going down and grow little more crime but not bad as like Inglewood does. Rialto have 20,000 white people (not hispanic) in certain area. They need find out some more about remove crime and gang related. Alot of 1980s house style.

Santa Barbara. I was camping there and I was in my tent ( I was 12 ) and I was Camping in there with my cousins from Fresno and we were half asleep until we heard all these fights going on and girls screaming and crying and then they came up to my tent and starting banging on it saying "Whos in dis bitch." I have never been more scared in my life.

Blink, have you actually been to any of those place or are you generalizing and sterotyping? Also what does the amount of white residents in Rialto have to do with the crime?

Maybe because there are only 20,000 and the rest are like 80,000 hispanic? Maybe? I dunno.

Nah. Rialto have 48,000 Hispanic and 20,000 African American.

I'm not sure that have crime and gangs problem. It seem bad for gangs if mixed with Hispanic and black people in neighborhood. They will have gang warface and shoot at other gang that still called murder. It was 18 murder in Rialto and it was 10 in 2002. How're bad from Compton, South L.A. and Watts? They have huge gangs problem so they can make much crime in neighborhood.

Private F.B.I (Any clothes) like Punk FBI, Biker FBI and Hip Hop FBI can make fool on other gangs because they prove with FBI badge. :eek2:

It need hire more harmful police that will help so much.

My friend have been moved out from Rialto to Simi Valley. Ventura County seem nicer ever.

What is projects mean? What kind of projects that where black people live there?

I know that most white people live in 1980s and 1990s house style.

Blinnk, i do not appreciate your generalization of "....projects that black people live in......" Black, white, and other groups all ive in projects. The reason for my listing the cities and communities i listed was because, for some people "rich" parts of towns do not exactly equal safety. Some people are not treated the same in certain parts of town as they are in others. This happens in mostly homogeneous sections, ie the ones i listed. You may not understand this, but would be neive to think it doesnt happen.

I know. Pease don't be mad at me. That is your business about your unsafe area. That is not my problem about unsafe area.

Beverly Hills, THousand Oaks and Malibu was safer and rich people live there. (It have some middle class family and few low class family). I saw some rich black family live in Beverly Hills and Malibu. Rich black people don't commited into more crime as like low class family does. THey were peaceful and good life though.

I have some friend that was from Beverly Hills and Malibu. They hangout me and give some money but they was so nice to me cuz I'm deaf guy.

Thousand Oaks is not all rich city but most was middle class family live there. You can send have fun shopping and play in Mailbu beach. Your life will great.

Cool, You will love L.A. so much.

I just stay away from South L.A. (expect for USC, Baldwin Hill, View Park, Crenshaw and MLK Blvd), Compton, South Inglewood and East Lynwood.

I just stay away after 8:00 (after sunset go down) from East L.A., South Downtown and North Long Beach. Crenshaw can be unsafe at night.

I actually dont feel unsafe in any part of LA. Maybe because the areas there that are perceived to be bad dont look that different from comparable areas in Northern CA. Ghetto is Ghetto no matter which city we're talking about.

I feel uncomfortable walking around downtown LA. It's so deserted during the weekday. Also went past that area south of Compton (does LA people call it 'the jungle'?) i have really bad vibes about it.

I had to take transit when i visted LA, from the airport, through inglewood, and what im assuming is south LA to downtown, then to the greyhound station to bus to san diego. I would have to say, where I went through on the bus looked pretty unsafe. I did walk around in Inglewood, got alot of black guys staring but nothing happened.

Nowhere is safe, it doesn't matter where, no where is. I've noticed most people are scared of ghetto areas because they think they're going to get robbed or something. I don't know if it's a white thing, but it's not all that bad. I go to church in the hood, and I'm tellin you, the best ribs in town are at this one church off Central. But the places I don't feel right in is Beverly Hills, Malibu, North Hollywood, West Los Angeles, basically anywhere that is prodominately upper-class white. I always feel like I'm watched, like they just expect me to rob somebody or something.

I know this is a REAL late post, but this is my take...

I was born in LA. I've lived in good places and bad places. I lived in Inglewood for 5 years right before I moved to the midwest for school. To be honest, I was more scared in that little midwest town than I had ever been in Inglewood.

The reason has to do with your own personal perspective and how you feel others in any given community perceive you. I'm asian, and when I went to that predominantly white town, I was constantly stared at wherever I went. I think it was mostly because there aren't a whole lot of asians in the midwest, and people were just trying to figure out what I was and what I was about. I never got stared at like that in Inglewood. There were some overtly racist people there too...every time I past houses flying confederate flags, deep inside I was like, "I'm supposed to be comfortable here?"

I'm not gonna pass judgement on anyone's opinions' in this forum, even though I disagree with the unfair stereotypes placed on groups of people. Let's just say one person's safe community can be another's danger zone.

well how about when people stare at you like that u dont back down and just look back, see the problem, you have to show that u wont be made to feel uncomfortable, and the best way to do it is dont be intimidated, that doesnt mean fighting them cos u would prolly get bashed pretty bad :) but just dont look away, dont change the direction u were walking, i went to LA and there were all these places i was told not to go, but walked thru the neighbourhoods and actually had no trouble at all infact i seemed to get a lot of respect for being the white guy who dared to enter the black neighbourhood. Plus there was hardly any traffic! :)
