CS, as an "outsider" who's posted here numerous times, I think you're wrong. LA looks just fine, thank you. Silverlake isn't hurting you one bit. And I'm sure that you realize that any of the sarcastic responses from so many of us have nothing to do with LA and everything to do with SL. 

a better question would be this: is there anyone in their right mind out there who can explain his over-the-top, almost organsmic, affinity with his home town?

I really don't understand all the fuss about Silverlake. So he support his city, he hasn't really done anything to get him banned. In fact if the others haven't been banned from their trolling LA threads to the extreme, so why should he. I haven't seen him trolling the other regions thread no where near as much as LA has been attacked. I've seen many forumers who are gung ho about their city to the point of putting down others, yet no one says a word.
