Griffith Observatory renovation

Picture are here. Scheduled to open in May. They put on new copper panels on the domes so its should look very alien to us as we are used to the dark patina that accumulated on the old copper.

WOW I havnt lived in LA for quite some time now and I remember when they closed it for renovations, it could have been when I was visiting family too, just seems like it has been u/c for so long, it better look bad ass when its done.

i think it closed in 2002 - 2003 so it hasnt been that long, but i agree that its gonna be great when its done. the views from there cant be beat.

Somebody should have filmed an action movie there while it was being renovated. You know, kinda like what they did with "Remo Williams" at the Statue of Liberty 20 years ago
