I don't know but I think this building deserves to be called a "white elephant." Besides, I don't really like glass buildings. 6.5 (because it's so massive)

Strasbourg was choosen as a symbol of unity between Germany and France because over the course of the centuries it has sometimes been part of Germany and sometimes part of France.

Well, I'm not sure what's the Pentagon doing in Washington either ;). Why not NY or LA?

I gave it 9.5 before I've seen it's extremely bad location. I thought it was inside of some modern neighbourhood with other monumental modern buildings, wide streets etc. Now I see it's surrounded by farms, small houses and some halls. Looks like it was constructed in the middle of a village. With location counted in vote I'd give it 7 at most.

That "village" you're referring to is Strasbourg.

Really???
:sleepy: I know that it is Strasbourg but the part where Parliament is located is the border of Strasbourg where you can already see farms and farms usually don`t belong to a city

What are you people complaining about? There's a ghetto a couple of blocks away from the US capitol.

Trust me I have visited this building and you really need to see the interior to appreciate it's true beauty. The large wooden "egg" that is located inside and contains the debating chamber is absolutely amazing and standing in the open courtyard in the centre of the circular building is breathtaking. Also I was there this summer and I don't remember there being any farms near there so it must have undergone development.

Given its huge glass facade (and I'm a big fan of glass), along with that really cool circular structure, I have to say that this building does possess a few nice points! People are complaining about its location, but given that it had to be situated in Strasbourg, I think that its waterfront location is a perfect area to situate the building! The only major dissapointing thing about this building for me is, as someone else mentioned, it could do with abit more imposing. Also, I don't think it truly represents Europe, but I can't expect too much given that we're in a completely different era. Either way, that interior shot looks awesome, so I give it an 8/10!

Now that Europe is slighty bigger than the original six, maybe something of significance for Germany and France is not of significance to the rest of us.
It would look better if it were in Brussels. Even the MEP's hate travelling there.
It would be like making German MP's move to Bonn every 4th week, or British MP's to Coventry.

I like the European Parliament building in Brussels more, not only because I think that the EP should be located in Brussels only.
But nonetheless its a cool building. Especially the interior is of rare quality IMHO. It looks inside better than fromt he outside.
