The Semiramis opened just in time for the Athens Olympics--two days before the opening ceremony. The boutique hotel, a member of Design Hotels, is in the tony Athens suburb of Kifissia, just a few minutes away from the Marousi business center. The building was bought in 2001 by millionaire Dakis Joannou, who hired designer Karim Rashid to remodel the entire hotel. The overall look is very modern, with shades of light green, pink and yellow used in bedrooms.
