Here are some shots of some of Indy's neighborhoods I took today. These were all taken from neighborhoods located on the near Eastside. I hope to go to the near Northside this weekend.

Fountain Square:

I've been meaning to go to St. Joe's and Woodruff Place, great pics. I also need to get up to Fall Creek Place, it looks fantastic! What streets are these located on?

Have you gone to Near North Gateway/Near Northside/Midtown/whatever it's called on Meridian? I love the houses up there.

Edit: I saw you're going to the northside this weekend. Ooops. Cwilson, what side of town do you live on?

YES...Fall Creek Place is a MUST! What the City has done with that neighborhood is amazing. I am going to go to Meridan-Kessler, Butler-Tarkington, and Midtown hopefully by the end of the weekend (not quite sure how well I will feel tomorrow).

I live in Garfield Park. I will also share some shots of my 'hood soon.

I love Garfield Park, the conservatory and gardens are great. Also, take a pic of the skyline from the hill. It should be a better view because the trees will be without leaves.

I had some pics of Garfield Park, but I lost them.

Fantastic photos. Indy is a great city that doesn't get the respect it deserves.

First off, I'm not a big fan of winter photos with everything so dead, gray and dreary. These same photos taken in summer would be stunning, but now not so much.

That being said, these are quite nice. But while Woodruff Place has some very interesting history and stories in it's one hundred and fifty years of existence, and Saint Joseph is an absolutely wonderful urban melting pot. My favorite photos here are of the "downtown", or central area, of the Fountain Square neighborhood. It provides a nice gathering and focal point for the Fountain Square neighborhood. Given that Fountain Square was one of the first towns to spring up just outside Indianapolis over one hundred and fifty years ago and then subsequently annexed, it is a very nice neighborhood that has managed to maintain it's singular identity throughout all these years.

I agree with you HH! The charm of all of these neighborhoods is lost in the winter. I was even thinking that when I was taking these yesterday.

I also LOVE Fountain Square. The neighborhood is very "blue-collar" with a bit of a rough edge, which adds to the appeal.

I glad you all have liked the photos. :)

Indianapolis is nice, I've been there. It's O.K. I like Iowa and that other state I am so fond of better, but Indianna probably ranks 3rd, maybe higher if it weren't for David Letterman.

Quit trying to pass these photos off as Indy. We all know that its just one big subdivision.

Yes, you are correct...one big suburban subdivision full of cul-de-sacs and traffic circles!

Anyway, St. Joe is located along Alabama Street, bordered by Central Ave, I-65, Vermont & Delaware Streets. It is one of my fvorite Indy hoods.
