Those are excellent pictures, I love the way Cincinnati looks. I think alot of the problem is Cincy caters to families way too much and doesnt cater to the single people.
It seems like if it would shake off the conservative image, Cincinnati would be the boom town of the Eastern Midwest.

Its too bad all the cities with large german populations like Cincinnati didnt build like that. I mean the buildings almost take your breath away!!

We have a couple of areas strong in singles like Clifton, Mt. Adams, Hyde Park and Downtown but we definitely still have that family flair.

Beautiful pictures - if Cincy had better transport and a little more open attitude, it would be on par with the best US cities, IMHO. Reminds me a lot of SF.

Cincinnati comes across unique in the midwest due to its hilly setting. If Pittsburgh (not quite eastern, not quite mid-america), it would seem that cincy would have a peer city.

i've been through cin and pgh, but don't know either of them well. they do seem incredibly alike, and more like each other than either are like any other city.

are they really as clone-like as i think or are there actually a lot of differences between the two?

Cincy is more white color P&G, GEAA etc...very German/Irish... Pittsburg more blue collar, Steal/Coal.... Italian/Slovac...

In terms of history, architecture, and setting, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are much alike. Pittsburgh OTOH is more blue collar, more eastern European, and is a bit more dense than Cincinnati. Cincinnati is more white collar, more German/Black, and a bit more "genteel" overall. I generally don't compare the two due to them being a bit more different than similar though I do love both cities very much (along with Baltimore).
