Italy and Spain are very close. Spain has been gaining steam in recent years and in my opinion, they've surpassed Italy by now especially with their stronger business ties with Latin America.

My favorite of all those countries though... would have to be France. Modern transportation, modern skyscrapers in Paris, great food, large number of immigrants (Vietnam, Lebanon, Africans), secularism, language, joie de vivre culture, art, scenery & nature, and well... I probably forgot some other things. But yah. It's France for me.

External debt means money owed by the country to foreign companies and goverments & total public and private debt owed to non-residents repayable in foreign currency, goods, or services.

The UK has no statistics on its debt, same can be said for France, Germany Italy and Switzerland. The higest debtor is believe it or not Japan, followed by America, Brazil, Australia and Argentina.

The UK's rough estimates are that the UK are - £22billion in debt - all public finances.
