Kenya is a truly beautiful country, and for Africa relatively stable (unless in election time ;))

^^ rocky that's got to be a joke, I suppose..

I voted for Angola, lovely country of lovely people, and there is hope! Civil war ended some two years ago. Ut's a very rich country in resources (oil, diamonds). Hopefully, its economy will boost .

Kenya for me. It is a naturally beautiful country, and an amazing experience for any visitor, may it be to the coast, mountains, lakes, forests, mountains, desert, cities etc.

dispite what you think there are alot of stable countries in africa

off the top of my head

ghana, senegal, botswana, gabon, mauritius, namibia, cameroon

Africa has 51 nation that are more diferent from one another than european states so unless you actual pay attetion (not just what you hear in the news) to the continent i thinky ou should shut up

Egypt, Algeria and Madagascar - I voted for the last one, I love it and it's anyway underrated (practically a continent of its own - ethnically and by wildlife and vegetation)!

they are all stable countries and well run and are relatively well off, which you said weren't when you said S.A. was the only one.

South Africa
Tunisia
Morocco
Kenya
Senegal

Which Congo were you referring to? Congo Kinshasa or Congo Brazzaville?
Libya: too crazy.
Nigeria: too chaotic, but improving.
Egypt: too heavily involved in the Middle East's politics of oil-for-terrorism.
Côte d'Ivoire: Laurent Gbagbo has really ruined things.

The real wild card is Angola. If the MPLA reforms their act, they could definately attract billions in investment.

actually they are not well off but they are stable especially botswana (one of the WORLD'S least corrupt) and malawie. also, eventhough it isn't recognized by any other state in the world, somaliland has been very stable since it declared its independance from somalia. come to think of it i would say that maybe a bit more than half of the 56 countries have been stable for at least the past 10-15 yrs, seeing how the diffinition of 'stable' doesn't include external conflicts.
