Hello....This is a thread based on the mosques around the world not particularly in the muslim countries but also in non-muslim countries. Through this thread we will be able to see the variety in architectural style in which the mosques were and are being built.

Shah Faisal Mosque located in Islamabad, is the largest mosque of Pakistan. This mosque has been named Faisal Masjid in the memory of late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia who had graciously consented to defray the cost of this project during his visit to Islamabad, as a gift to the people of the city.
Designed by the Turkish Architect Mr. Vedat Dalokay the mosque is spread over an area of 1,89,705 square meters and is flanked by four minarets soaring gracefully to a height of 88 meters above the main prayer hall dome which is at a height of 40 meters.
The main prayer hall can accommodate 10,000 persons while the covered porticos and verandahs can take another 24,000 worshippers. The main courtyard has a space for another 40,000 worshippers.

Shah Faisal is the moust beautiful modern Mosquee I ever see :yes: but in general (ols and new) Otman Mosquees have to me the better style folaw by Persian Mosquees.

I like the greenish interior of th Sultan Mosque, Singapore. It really is a soothing colour making a perfect environment for meditation. Other pix are good aswell.
One of my favorite modern mosque is the floating mosque in Putrajaya....i dont no the name...can i have more pix of that....

Probably, Tatars have been living in Lithuania for more than a 600 years, their architecture was influenced by local art traditions that's why some mosques look like the churches, like this one:

Mosques in Arizona
There are about 70,000 Muslims living in Arizona, most of them in the Phoenix Metro or Tucson.
1. Tucson:
There are three mosques in Tucson for the 8,000 Muslims living in Tucson.
There are not many pictures though - here is one of the largest mosque located on the campus of the University of Arizona:

Although NYC does have mosques, most of them do not take the normal design. The Islamic Cultural Ctr at 201 E 96th and 1711 3rd Ave is one of the few. It was built in 1996, and is Manhattan's only authentic mosque. I could show others, but there are mostly just places that occupy lowrises, so there is nothing special there. BTW, Muslims can acces it by taking either the No 4, 5, or 6 train of the subway to 96th St in which is it right by it. the architecture of the mosques in Istanbul is fantastic. All the mosques over there have unique style of building domes and minarets.

I think Malaysia has a lot of beautiful mosques influenced by Middle-Eastern, Moorish and as well as traditional Malay or Malaccan architecture.

After showing most of NYC's mosques, many of them I will admit are nothing compared to the ones shown in the Mid East, but that's b/c the Muslims were one of the last groups to come to NYC and why most of the mosques are usually in the form of storefronts.

Spain has a lot of ancient mosques from the medieval age, like the Cordoba one (which is now the catholic cathedral).
Nowadays more than 1 million of muslims lives in Spain (the most of them morroquians). I think the most famous is the Mosque of Madrid

Islamic culture in Spain was very important in the Medieval Age, specially in the south of Spain. So that, there are several buildings (generally churches) built following an islamic style, or with a lot of . This style is called "mozárabe" or "mudéjar"
For example the Church of Christ of the Victory, in Toledo (now a church, a former mosque until XII century)

The Islamic Cultural Centre in Ireland - Dublin.
It was built by Sh. Hamdan al-Maktoum of Dubai, and in addition to prayer halls, houses a school, library, restaurant, and shop. It is the centre for the European Fatwa Council.

Bosnians are Ottoman too :) I guess you meant Bosnian and Turkish Mosques.
I don't know why most of the Mosques in Christian European countries are at modernized style of Arabic architecture. It's not suited to Europe. Tradisitonal Arabic (North African) could be much better, but the best would be Ottoman architecture wich has its roots from classisism. But Empire style Ottoman Mosques woul the best of the best with its Baroque and Rokoko stle decoration unites... :)

Note: The late Rais Ghazi Mohammad, the landlord of a large estate, began this project in 1932 in Bhong village, the most important of the scattered villages on his vast property. The mosque was to be the most glorious building in his palace compound which also included a smaller mosque, a madrasa and rooms for students. The work of specialists gathered from all over Pakistan and India (master masons and craftsmen from Rajasthan, calligraphers and painters from Karachi), the compound was designed and constructed over a period of nearly 50 years. Broadly eclectic in their use of sources, the builders borrowed stylistic elements from nearby Lahore, as well as Iran, Spain and Turkey, and combined them with Western colonial elements of the 1940s. Materials and crafts used range from the traditional (teak, ivory, marble, coloured glass, onyx, glazed tile work, fresco, mirror work, gilded tracery, ceramic, calligraphic work and inlay) to the modern and synthetic (marbleised industrial tile, artificial stone facing, terrazzo, coloured cement tile and wrought iron). Only traditional materials were used in the mosque interiors. In the words of the jury: "Bhong enshrines and epitomises the popular taste in Pakistan with all its vigour, pride, tension and sentiment. Its use, and misuse, of signs and symbols expresses appropriate growing pains of an architecture in transition."

Facts:
The Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque, often referred to as the Beg's Mosque for short, is a mosque in the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is considered the most important Islamic structure in the country and one of the world's finest examples of Ottoman Architecture. It is located in the Bačarija neighborhood in the Stari Grad municipality.
The mosque was built in 1531 by Gazi Husrev-beg, the provincial governor of Bosnia and a man widely considered Sarajevo's greatest donor who built most of Sarajevo's old city at this time.
The Beg's Mosque was built by a Persian architect, who would later go on to build the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne for the Sultan Selim I. Out of all the Ottoman balkan provinces, Bosnia's population was the quickest to convert to Islam. Due to this, during the height of the Ottoman Empire, many of the most famous examples of Ottoman architecture in the Balkans were built in Bosnia, including Mosques, bridges, libraries, bathhouses, etc. etc. The Gazi Husrev-Beg mosque is a vital part of this period of prosperity and cultural growth.

Teh Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Skopje:
A beautiful mosque under the Skopje fortress. The temple was built in 1492 by Mustafa Pasha, whose name in inscribed on a plaque above the gate. Artichitecurally, the temple is a cubical structure capped with a large cupola, 16m in diameter. The impression is complemented by the porch, which is supported by four marble pillars. The 47m high minraret and the mosque are built with cut marble. The interior is decorated with floral motifs.
(Within the complex there was a medresa (a religios school) and an imaret (canteen). Within the complex today there are the Turbe of Mustafa Pasha (right next to the mosque), and a sarcofagus, believed to mark the grave of Uma, one of Mustafa PAshas daughters.
