Plans afoot to build the longest bridge in the UK, between Barrow-in-Furness and Morecambe, Lancashire, Northern England. This will connect the area known as "Lancashire North of the Sands" to the Lancashire mainland, shaving 90minutes of driving and creating easier access to the south England's Lake District National Park.
