Wow! Amazing project. Unique. I've never seen a project that coordinates so many skyscrapers to create a single flowing shape! Very cool and futuristic, although seems a little "too organized." I really hope it gets built, but I think it would be better off either by itself as a self-contained city or as a part of a very, very large city on like an island or something (although a peninsula is a great place for it). Hope they are serious about it and it gets built!

Wow, its really amazing. But just think about the amount of construction that has to be made to complete a project of that size, it got to be equal to building a whole city. basicly from ground up! It would be really cool if it happend though...

If you compare the tallest to the current skylie the tallest ones will be around 350m, perhaps to to 400m. :)

I have mixed feelings about this project, somehow i think it's an interesting and cool idea, on the other hand this is nothing more than human storage devices. It's so out of touch of the human scale, so anonymous and massive. It looks like some planners haven't learned from the mistakes, which can be found in de large European cities, made in the past.

February 27th, 2007, 11:06 PM
what the hell..this must be the stupidest looking thing ever, hope this doesnt get built it just looks completely stupid, who the hell would want to live in the inner buildings or something?
i seriously they're gonna go through with this, if for some reason they want to blight their city with this tripe of a project the costs for building something like that look astronomical, and probly far outweigh their economic potential
nezzybaby
March 1st, 2007, 06:47 PM
^thats a bizarre response st anger, how can these buildings costs outway their economis potential. Each building is a basic cuboid, like you find in any city in the world, the only thing that makes them any different is a slanted top. Each building therefore will cost as much as any other building in the world. Each building will also generate as much income as every other building in the world. Also living in the building in the middle will be comparable to living in any building in any city, there is a roads width betweeen each which is all the space you ever get, actually there is more room because there is a roads width on all sides rather than having a building right next door. Demand for office space in china is massive, look at cities like hongkong and ghuangzhou, they are growing at an incredible rate and still struggling to keep up with demand. Something like this if built in the correct phases would easily fill up. Basically everything you said is total rubbish, why not repost with something along the lines of:
I dont know much about this city or skyscrapers, but personally i dont find this as aesthetically pleasing as everyone else seems to.
or better yet dont post at all

i think it's a great project but i don't believe it'll be build
VaastuShastra
March 2nd, 2007, 01:30 AM
st anger does have a point about the central buildings.
But I still think this is the best (skyscraper) project I have ever seen.
I have often wondered about building a number of skyscrapers in a spiral so that they gradually get taller as they go to the centre.....
But this is a far better implimentation of that theme.
It looks absolutely magnificent from the outside.
Better than any Dubai project even.
It looks so biological, and asthetically pleasing.
If this project comes to be, there should be no qualms about copying its style the world over - I know id love to see something like it in India or Britain.

Which company designed it?
beaujoe
March 2nd, 2007, 08:00 AM
Only a country like China could pull off a project like this. I mean, the level of central planning and control necessary to seamlessly bring all of the elements of this design together is astounding. It seems like this project would be WAY too demanding and complicated for a private developer to build, not to mention expensive.
I'm anxious to see how this turns out. I hope it gets built. I think it's a brilliant idea, has great visual appeal, and would create a really nice living environment.

Which company designed it?
Designed by COBE and Chongqing University, the conceptual project is called Magic Mountains and inspired by the nearby peaks that over-look Chongqing, inspiring the local nickname, Mountain City.
Area is 1.3 KM X 1.7 KM
9 mountains made up of building's: Maximum building height is 350 M
http://cobe.dk/ <- go here and see the movie about it
http://international.cqu.edu.cn/index/index.aspx
Architect website still list this project "Magic Mountains" as ACTIVE and not canceled...

October 1st, 2007, 02:51 AM
^^ The concept is simply great, but I don't think this project has any real chance. The area covering this plan is currently being sold to different developers. Chongqing Park Place (2x70fl, 2x40fl aprox) will be probably the fist major highrise project growing up over there.
