The development, in the Tien Ho district of Guangzhou is of a large scale and has become a major landmark in the city. Two blocks of serviced apartments and an eighty-storey office tower are located at the intersection of major boulevards and form the focus of large-scale town planning in the vicinity of the Guangzhou's main railway station. The overall height of the building is 390 meters.

Building materials and construction are both straightforward and economical, comprising curtain walling, glazed ceramic tiles and anodized aluminum-framed windows. The scheme design and detailing combines a generally modern aesthetic with refinements inspired by traditional Chinese architecture in key areas.

Very,very impressive to me. I like buildings that follow some sort of proportional formula, and seem to have alot of balance in thier design. I also like how the top of it looks vaguely like a Norman Keep, thus evoking an image of strenth, security and fortitude. If I was personally designing a sleek, ultra modern tower, this just might be what it looks like... I personally like this one almost as much as the BOC or Central Plaza in HK...

8.5/10 - That big tower may be a box, but it's sure an impressive one - I love how the facade on the corners catches the light, and it really soars to the sky. I gave extra points for that very nice plaza around the circular main entrance, which is probably the nicest I've seen so far - some of our architects in the U.S. could take lessons from that! The main tower's crown is nice - yes, it does look a bit like a medieval keep - and I really like the night lighting. The two shorter gold buildings make a really nice composition with the big tower in the middle, but those could use a few setbacks, I think...and I wonder if the lines in the center sections of the big tower's facade might have been better off being vertical?

i woudlnt mind having it in perth.... jsut came back from GZ and it is very impressive atnight the lights flash on and off down teh tower which is a really good effect... teh china mayors plaze which is teh gold buildings next to it look really good with the sun reflecting of it.... pity so many of teh buildings in GZ have been left half finished after the collapse of GITIC...

What a poor building :(

I have no idea why this is getting such high scores, its boxy, in the worst possible way, and its very bland. The sign and the double spire salvage a couple of points. As does the height.

LIke its simple and sleek design. Adds to the height. Original, if odd, way to top it off, but I sorta like it, but I can see how others dont. I like the reflective glass plus the stark contrast in the two textures of the glass. Nice location too. A really great skyscraper. The facade is incredibly smooth with what seems to be very high quality cladding. The height is unbelievable, and the result is out of this world ^^ The top's shape is amazing, and the double spire finishes it perfectly. Not to mention the beautiful lobby entrance.

I'm so disappointed with this one :-(
I used to love it but in real it's just boring, not to say ugly. It's not nice at street level, the lobby fails to be impressive, the inside is cramped with an incredible lot wasted mechanical space. Offices in here are really tiny but there is a huge number of them, and a huge number of lifts as well. There's nothing to see at the top, really, but you can try going to the sky lobby, the view is not bad and there's a cool model of the tower in here. I don't think it's allowed to go there actually, but the security is lousy ^^
