I didnt know that LA had a cudahy,
I know milwaukee has one,
thats the thing about LA, it has so many cool old burbs,
some a bit dangerous, but hey interesting as hell.
I lived in LA for four years and still dont know all the burbs,
hell Ive been in Chicago for most of my life and dont know all its burbs either,
anyways, its an article from the LA Weekly
a great newspaper in LA,
I miss its format, easier to read than the Chicago Reader.
If anything its an LA article bashing an LA burb,
which I dont think is the case.

So what was your intention for posting a link and not commenting Mr. Origami???? Why is a Chicagoan living 2,000 miles away so concerned about the lawless nature of a small little town in South East LA??
Hmm...something very fishy here with some of you Chicago forumers.

Origami, thanks for posting this article.
Really interesting
Don't really know why people got offended by it.
Fellow angelenos: ever heard of the city of Vernon?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernon,_California
It's just south of downtown LA.
Population, 95 - no contested elections between 1980 and 2006.
The whole city is basically run by one family.

why does this seem like it does not add up
"The racial makeup of the city was 47.25% White, 1.10% Asian, 47.25% from other races, and 4.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 89.01% of the population."
