yea, I totally agree. The obelisks add a really nice atmosphere, like Ancient Egypt meets the 21st century.

WOOWWW!! great mall!!! the renderings look very realistic.. it's too Las Vegas maybe, but it suits Cairo (and the interior reminds me of Harrods' Egyptian Escalator Hall)

Mate there's a reason the renders look so realistic. - they're not renders. This is built. I live in Cairo, it's not Las Vegas at all, this is modern Cairo. If what you're refering to as Las Vegas is the new pyrimads, Jesus Christ it was the Cairenes who built these type of pyramids in the first place!:nuts:

As for being the biggest in Africa & Middle east, I think Mall of the Emirates in Dubai has more stores, but this sure is fuckin big.

I don't like citystars because it is extremely noisy although i approve it as a great project.
Citystars is a revolution, it re-introduced the concept of shopping to Cairo's middle and upper classes, who now flock to the mall as their prime shopping destination.
It had also destroyed some previously established shopping malls in the area, which can't compete anymore.

Finally, it is close to my house :lol:

^^ I agree, as a rule I don't like big malls. Give me downtown Cairo anyday! It is good though as you said a place for the upper middle classes..

Give me downtown Zamalek or Mohandseen any day over city stars. City stars is just too sterile, when i'm there it dosn't feel like in Masr.

Also i can't stand the copied Khan El Khalil bazaar or Abou el Seed restuarant, they can't compare to the originals

Woa, that blows the Mall of America, ie. Mega Mall, away. Ive never seen a mall like that before.
