Not really. I've felt small ones since moving here but never felt what my sister described in '94 and quite frankly, wouldn't want to!

I used to love to hear the news broadcasts as I came in to work. Announcer would say like " In case you experienced a little earthmovement it was centered in Palms and Culver City vicinity". Measured at 4.3 etc
I loved it! Nowhere else but California as far as I know is this commonly announced on radios.
Many times we never knew there was a slight temblor unless someone mentioned it. I was working right on Wilshire & Barrington just after Northridge and we had several after shocks. It always felt like a big truck passing by except the rumble was all around. Phones woudl go out, elevators stop and frightened people milling about. Strange as it seems, I miss the excitement. Truth is no matter where you are in the US there always some hell to reckon with.
All we have here in Texas are twisters, floods & hurricanes! See! Hah!

lol, yeah about the same in OK, but everyday there are dozens of earthquakes in Tulsa... some you can feel, and about 98.7% of them you can't..
Theres hundreds of earthquakes everywhere, just not at magnitudes of the ones closest to fault lines.

next time you open the local yellow pages, there is always a section of how to brace yourself for the next temblor.
You will not see that anywhere else in the US. It is unique to Cal. I think it's neatto.
Everytime I visit Cal now I always ask for a room on the second level. Sounds silly but I figure I can climb out of the window (if I survive) opposed to being smushed below on 1st level. There is always the pancake scenario.
I was in SFO shortly after the Loma Prieta quake in 89? and it was strange driving past a freeway on ramp to nowhere. You guys remember the Nimitz Frwy collapse. Oy Vey! and no way!:ohno:
Actually, I could be mistaken, I bet All states on west coast see these warnings in phone books too.

I don't think Oregon has earthquakes. Do they? I know Seattle/Northern WA/Southern B.C. Canada and California do.

Of course they do! Even other unlikely places on east coast have on occasion.
California is just el primo choicho for un Teramotto. I always found it perculiar that they normally occur in early am. So should we all sleep with our pajamas on in case you gotta run outside either that or your birth day suit! Hah!
