Why is Los Angeles never on the banner?

Okay, I've seen cities such as NYC, HK, and Chicago multiple times on the banner as well as San Diego and San Francisco. Why is it that LA is never on the banner?

Good point! If you ever notice it enough times, its generally South American or European cities/towns that get featured on the banner. Heck! I rarely see American cities besides NYC or SF.

yah it is pritty good but the formating is wrong, the banner is 719x213
your image is 600x102. you will probably need to fix that for it to have a chance. maybe you could re-crop to include more of the dome?

The one w/ Griffith Observatory in it is good, I just wish it was clearer. The other one showing the skyline and the subsequent "sprawl" is very good; be proud of the urban sprawl. Perhaps one w/ the Hollywood sign??

your gona have to do that to the original image. once an image is compressed for web its pritty much locked in stone.

but if you had the original one you should be able to do that with no issues.

As for the "warped" banner I don't think it is so bad. Yea. some hater probably threw it into the mix because they saw THIS thread and thought it would be funny, meh'. I don't mind the haters much because they are just jealous sitting in their rundown shack in bumblefuck, nowhere and this is the best they can do to have some fun. Plus, the LAX Encounters shot looked pretty good.

This banner shows the city from the proper perspective as well. Depending on how you look at downtown from a distance, you can see pretty good size gaps between the buildings which makes it look less dense that it really is.
Its great to see an L.A. banner up though...

Still, I think that they should fill in the skyline much more than they are doing now with taller buildings especially now that its been proven that a properly constructed tower will be able to withstand huge earthquakes as long as the people responsible for designing and building are willing to pour in the extra money.

Mount Wilson is out of the picture's range, to the far left. It's the one with all the TV & radio antennae on top of it, overlooking Pasadena. The way the picture is angled, you can't see it. I know that the blue arrow is Mt. San Antonio, a.k.a. Mt. Baldy.

I wonder if the people in the NY forum are whining that it's only the post 9/11 lower Manhattan skyline that's being shown, and not the more impressive, iconic midtown Manhattan skyline (Empire State, Citicorp, MetLife, etc) that's being depicted. NYers are infamous for being whiners, so I'm sure that's what's going on :)

and the reason miami sf and all the other citied mentioned do not get alot of banner placement is because no one is submitting those cities for a banner. if you want to see your city up there, take the initiative!!
