Projects by Emaar:
Uptown Cairo

Stylish living in the heart of Cairo

Standing tall at the highest point of Downtown Cairo, this four million square metre development by Emaar Misr will bring new meaning to living, working, relaxing and reveling in the city. Uptown Cairo will reflect the hallmark luxury and style that Emaar’s world-class developments are known for. Stretching over the Mukattam suburb, it will attract the capital’s trendsetters with its vibrant town centre, private clubs, hotels, Golf course, restaurants, cafes and much more.
Uptown Cairo’s eleven villages, ranging from low-rise on the hillside to medium-rise (three to 22 storeys) further down the slope, will offer panoramic views of the city, making it an address most looked up to. While bordering loop roads will define each neighbourhood, internal roads and pedestrian walkways will provide easy access to schools, swimming pools, healthcare facilities, offices, retail centres and places of worship. Inviting the upwardly mobile to a lifestyle that is complete in every aspect, in one central location.

Marassi
Celebrate the spirit of Mediterranean living

As a definitive resort destination created on a never before scale, Marassi is a Mediterranean-styled development close to Alexandria and a few miles away from the historic city of El Alamein along the Sidi Abdul Rahman Gulf. An architectural ode to the rich and diverse Mediterranean way of living, Marassi is destined to be a haven of untold bliss and comforts sprawling 1,544 acres of pristine waterfront. Harbouring a community that comprises six districts, each with an ambience and style of its own. At the heart of it the Kavala Centre, that spans more than 900,000 square metres, will envelop a circular marina - the primary sea-gate to the resort. The development will have retail, hospitality and entertainment components guaranteed to lure visitors.
Amphitheatres, resort villas, spas and souqs will add a new dimension to relaxation while an 18-hole golf course will enhance the lure of golf living. A network of lagoons line townhouses and luxury resorts with up to 3,000 guest rooms, while a bustling community centre fosters a thriving sense of community living.

Cairo Gate
Enter a shopper’s paradise and never leave

Cairo Gate opens the doors to a distinguished address shared by stylish neighbours – the world’s finest luxury brands – at Cairo’s most upscale retail address. A mixed-use development that covers over 160 acres of prime real estate, Cairo Gate will not just cater to discerning shoppers from the world over, but also those who appreciate a trendy lifestyle that has come of age. While a mega shopping mall will be centrifugal to its appeal, it will be complemented by an office park with world-class facilities apart from a luxury hotel and residences ranging from townhouses to villas and apartments.
Located at the beginning of Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, it will include all the amenities of an upscale destination while providing for day-to-day needs – from schools and places of worship to medical facilities.

Quatar Son 333, don`t forget to take photos of the city, plz. Egypt is the cradle of civilazation and the architectural designs are uniquely retained through out the city -that is a good thing.

Terminal Building 2
Curb Closure Project

Cairo International Airport is currently undergoing major developments with regard to its infrastructure, involving the construction of a new Terminal Building, 3 (TB3) , which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2008.

With Terminal 3, Cairo Airport Company will double its airport capacity, enabling us to provide passengers & airlines with state-of-the art services and facilities.

Terminal 3 will be located adjacent to Terminal 2, and the two terminals will be connected by a bridge. On this purpose, the access roads will be redesigned, and the changes will also involve the relocation of the parking lots.

Arriving Passengers Procedure

Passengers proceeding with tour-buses or limousine service will be picked up from the curb side where porter assistance will be available..

Arriving passengers expected to use taxis or their own means of transportation will take the shuttle bus at the curb side station or the pedestrian way to parking lots 2 or 3.

Departing Passengers Procedure

Departing passengers arriving to the airport by tour buses or limousines service will be directed via signposts to the curb side of Terminal 2.

Departing passengers arriving to the airport by taxi or private cars will have to follow the signs leading to parking lots 1 or 2, and to use the shuttle bus transporting them to the curb side.

Departing Vehicles Route :

Vehicles leaving the terminal to various destinations are following the road signs to choose one of the two existing exit routes:

Destination Heliopolis : vehicles are to follow the route leading to the International Export Centre, by using the bridge leading to Orouba Road that is located afoot Smash tennis academy.
Destination Nasr City / Katameya / Maadi/ Pyramids Area: vehicles are to follow the same road, and turn to the left to access the Autostrade.

***From this news story the termina 3(TB3) will be operational by the end of 2008***
It`s been rescheduled several times for opening - I am sure by this time is going to be done.

No no, they said they were going to build a high tech fence to protect the pyramids, with sensors and like 199 cameras.......it came out in the papers...

They said the locals were stealing part of the pyramids to sell to tourist and this could damage this historic place.....

GOOGLE IT.
